I have always loved Bella Products....Until Now. :( I got burnt twice trying to use this. The product is smooth, doesn't grip the counter, and it is too lite weight. When putting the coffee bar into place, the machine slides all around....not good.after making coffee and unscrewing both the water reservoir and the coffee filter the machine slides all around and the product is too smooth, it either slides off the counter, over the counter, or you get burnt trying to secure it while removing parts to make another cup of espresso. Other than that....Whats left....it makes hot coffee. OH, It does not have the final burst when making the espresso, it just drips for about 72 seconds after making the coffee. I will be returning this. :(

I bought this in September of 2017 after discovering that my preferred Krups brand small espresso maker's price had increased by several hundred dollars. If you are a straight espresso drinker this machine will probably not provide the crema that you seek, if like me you make lattes or cappuccinos, it will probably suffice. If you use almond or whole milk you may not get the foam you want as this takes more pressure than this machine can provide. My first disappointment was that NONE of my other espresso accessories from previous machines fit this one. Now, a year in the handle that you attach your cup of ground espresso to the machine has broken... in short it's okay but if you're a daily user, spend some more money for a better machine.

I bought this when it was ~$23, not sure why the price has now almost doubled!? I just bought it because it was the cheapest espresso machine on Amazon. For me it makes a good espresso and it is very cute looking too. The steamer/frother is less than adequate though because it is incapable of making enough steam to heat a little milk, although it will froth it fine. However, because of that and because it doesn't automatically turn off the heating in the water tank after it is done making the espresso and the water tank is dry, I wouldnt buy it again and definitely wouldnt pay more that ~$23 for it. Still I'm happy with it for the price and I'll be using it until it breaks.

This is my second of this exact model. My husband and I are both extreme coffee drinkers. Our first last us 1.5 years of 3-6 uses daily. WELL worth the $30 we paid for it at Target. When it finally brewed its last we went back to Target but it was no longer carried there. AAAAHHHH! We tried the comparable Mr. Coffee machine. HORRIBLE! Espresso always tasted off, the brew took forever, and within 6 weeks of much lighter use(I was pregnant) it was toast. We were so happy when we saw this carried by Amazon. It brews delicious espresso every time, the steamer is the best shape and ease-of-cleaning of any home machines we've used. The espresso brews quickly(2-3 minutes depending on the size cup), the steamer foams perfectly, and we couldn't be happier. Just make sure you're doing a regular(1-4 times a month depending on how frequently you use it) descaling cycle: 3 parts water one part white vinegar in the carafe run through the machine in a regular cycle. Repeat twice more with plain water to thoroughly rinse the machine.

I a using it for about 7 months now. It makes good espresso. Few things I don't like about the design and functionality.1. Knob becomes very hard to turn when the temperature gets high. It almost feels like it is going to brake.2. The paint markings on the knob (brew/steam) are completely gone now and it is not possible to tell which way to turn. I had to make scratches to see where the position is.3. All metal contacts inside the knob are 70% covered with rust. I don't think it will last long.4. The ON light is very dim and you cannot tell if the machine is ON or OFF.CONCLUSION: next time I will buy something else.

I've purchased this machine twice. 4 years ago, I bought it and use it 2x a day for Espresso. The on off switch is fragile. I only use it to make espresso. I now consciously leave it on Espresso drip and unplug it when it cycles. I don't use any other features but Espresso, 4 cups. Love my strong brew 2x a day. Now I now to unplug it and not trust the cheap switch. Can't beat the high quality Espresso for the price.

Lasted about a year. Really bummed. The heating element for the steamer would get clogged. I clean it every use with hot water. The drip still works but i bought it to make latte. And if the steamer doesn't work then might as well get a coffee maker. It takes 2 minutes to heat up. So i normally started the drip first then steam so its already heated. I'd invest in something much better of you don't want to wasts your money.

This is a wonderful machine for the price it works great. The only downside is that you have to remember to turn it off. All other machines automatically shut off after the water has passed through the machine. This one has to be manually turned off or unplugged. I forgot a lot - now I turn it off as I take my coffee out so I won't forget. You will not find another machine that does what this one does anywhere for this low of a price - you just have to remember to turn it off.

My machine works wonderfully. It's what I expected for the cost. My only downside is the white markings on the knob rubbed off within 1 week . So now I just listen for the "off" selection { no water heating or steaming noise} I had a Mr. Coffee Expresso machine and really hated the way it made the coffee taste. Like burnt plastic. Also the milk frother never frothed the milk !. The "Bella" machine makes great mounds of milk froth ! So' no plastic taste and froths milk good; what more could I ask for ?

My parents raised me from a young age to be an espresso addict. Off at college, I bought myself a Mr. Coffee espresso maker that broke within 6 months of purchase. The tank was tiny anyway! I replaced it with one of these, but kept the milk steaming cap from the Mr. Coffee one, since its shape allows for a better steam with a lower milk level- more space for espresso! The tank in this easily holds enough water for 3 people (2.5 if you're an addict like the people I make morning lattes for). I have had my own for about half a year and have loved it. My parents have had theirs for probably 2 or 3 years at this point, and it is still going strong. I bought the three year warranty with mine though, just to be on the safe side.

What a deal! I love this Espresso machine! I use it every morning. It is easy to operate and makes excellent espresso. I can remove the hot espresso grinds right away without it spitting out on the counter. Machines I've owned in the past, I had to wait for it to cool, otherwise the pressure would shoot the grinds all over the place! The only two faults I can find are, the power light is very dim and when the machine is hot from using it, the dial is more difficult to turn. I just use a damp cloth and turn it. You can't go wrong with the price of this machine. I highly recommend it!

Works great if you know how to use a cappuccino machine. Make sure coffee is well packed. Allow coffee to start brewing and switch over to steam. Use a frozen metal carafe and cold milk. When milk is frothy and hot, which over to brew and allow espresso to finish brewing. Pour foam and milk over espresso and enjoy!

This is our 3rd Bella cappucino maker. They work great for awhile, but then conk out after a couple of years. Still, way cheaper than buying our morning fixes at Starbucks plus we enjoy the convenience of staying home. This one froths fantastic with soy milk, which is all we use. (I don't know if Silk brand would froth, but it never did with the others.) We wised up and bought the 4-year warranty this time for approx, $5. We also waited a week or two for the cheaper Amazon fulfiller to re-stock, as it was half the price as from the manufacturer.

After 5 years of use, the selector knob broke. An identical problem happened with a Mr. Coffee espresso maker of similar design after a period of about 10 years of use. The selector knob seems to be the weak point of the design.

Steam or pump right? If you really are a coffee snob, move on, pay for pump, but you you will pay a good deal more. I had a pump system once when money was less tight, but both that time and the pump are long gone, but i still like espresso coffee. This little system is worth the price, easy to use, and easy to clean up after -- packing the coffee and getting the grounds to the correct consistency are the only two challenges. I am now one click back from a Turkish powder grind and do not pack it super tight ... and it is a good cup espresso. The steamer part works fairly well too, but i do not use that often (my son does and says it is ok). If it lasts me a year, then i think it is worth it ... if it dies before that ... i will post again.

The one thing I wish had been designed differently is the power knob. It is on the left side behind the espresso holder (name?) and if not angled correctly I forget to turn it off only to notice hours later. It has not hurt the machine, but cannot be good for it... I now have it angled so I can always see it, not placed straight forward. The Bella works great and I love the espresso I make with BUSTELO supreme espresso style ground coffee. It's the best!

Cute and inexpensive little latte maker is . BUT it does not put out the appropriate amount of steam to get a really good froth of milk. Also the on light is not very bright, it can harudly be seen. And the way the on off knob is placed makes it kind of hard to change the needed setting. If you are not careful, you might get steam burns or burnt from putting your hand on top of the water tank lid, which as you know it's very hot.

This is a very small unit which takes up very little counter space, but still brews a good cup of espresso. I like the small size, and that it appears to be well made and robust. I've had good and bad espresso makers in the past. Few have made it over a year or two, so since I've had this one for only about four weeks, the jury is still out on its longevity.What I'm not as happy about is that the tamper that comes with the unit will only tamp full, or almost full loads of coffee because the filter tapers smaller towards the bottom. The milk frother works okay, but makes mostly bubbles rather than froth.Overall, this unit does the job, and is at the low end of the price range. Would buy again.

I have now bought two of the Bella espresso machines in the last two years. Both broke down on me. The first one stopped working all together when plugged in. The most recent one stopped pouring liquid even though I have cleaned it multiple times. They work great while they last; however, having to buy a new one every 9 months or so is not worth it.

Not sure on durability as I have only used for a month. It is decent construction for the price. Works well and is very simple. Controls are manual and stiff but no leaks. Coffee is good. I have another expresso maker that cost over 10 times what I paid for this one and the coffee is comparable but the options are better on it. This one has no real options but you get what you pay for.

The version I received is the model numbered but doesn't match the item pictured. I previously owned the Bella espresso machine pictured, which is far better made. I'm disappointed the quality has plummeted so much in a mere 2 years. The plastic is very cheap, I'm afraid that the handle will break within a week or two because it jams every time you try to install it into its port for usage. It didn't come with a tamper, the light doesn't work either, and it makes a great deal of noise and splatters a lot compared to the previous versions. Amazon shoppers, the days of decent cheap espresso machines are gone, it's either buy a bialetti and going old school or investing in a proper machine. Pass this item by, it's high rating is deceptive. If this thing lasts a month, I may update my review.

This is my second Bella. The first was better made and designed. I had it for 4 years before it stopped working correctly. It was about $40. This one ism made out of cheap plastic, has a top that is difficult to secure and remove. My first one had a red button that lowered when the pot cooled enough to open without being burned. This one does not. Both my son and I have had our hands burned by the steam I am returning it. We are utterly disappointed.

After losing the first one en route, Amazon immediately shipped me out a replacement. It’s exactly what I wanted and it worked fine for a few days but it started leaking from an indeterminate area. I’m not putting any effort into an attempt at fixing it; I’ll return it and bite the bullet and spend more to get a known name espresso maker.

This makes good expresso so probably worth the cheap price. The downsides are: The knob to turn the maker on is poorly designed. The knob is difficult to turn sometimes requiring me to use a rubber gripper to get it turned on or off. Another downside is the power on/off indicator light. If the expresso maker is in bright enough light you can't tell whether the machine is on or off. This could prove hazardous if you are forgetful about turning the machine off after use as my husband is. The only time I could tell he left the machine on was when I turned off some kitchen lights so it was dark enough to actually see that the indicator light was still on. Again, poor design.Update to my review: after use for 8 months, the handle to turn machine on broke off making machine unusable.

I bought this product one month ago and so now I very disappointed. I had before one espresso maker from Mr coffee that I gave to my mom. Both have same size, price, features e etc. So, I had to have compare them. Bella espresso maker is way inferior. First, it says on manufactured website 3 bars pressure, but it’s advertised 5 bars on Amazon and in the package. I believe it is 3 bars (who is lying?) . Second, it takes forever to start to brew even for this kind of machine. Third, the cup where goes the coffee has a funnel shape it is impossible to compress that. I bought a professional tamper that works on any machine except that because of that. Unbelievable! For those reason I really do not recommend this product. You can buy others machines for same prize and not have the deception that I have.
