Putting in my two cents here...UV-C light falls in the only spectrum of UV that can affect DNA replication. The light is enough to stop replication, not completely kill the bacteria. That’s enough for commercial use, both in the UVC wands, phone cleaners, and this water bottle. Why? Cells that do not replicate cannot infect. I do not understand the notion that the light ‘does not kill chemicals secreted by bacteria, which makes you sick’. Bacteria makes you sick. And if you disrupt the dna activity of everything in the bottle, there’s nothing alive that would be harmful.There is no perfect water. Don’t even get me started on how many CFU (coliform forming units- or fecal matter contamination) there is in tap water and bottled water. This water bottle comes pretty darn close to perfect. It doesn’t ‘filter’ so you will occasionally get a metallic taste from various sources- water with lower pH, the metal in water from older pipes. Should be fine as long as there’s not high lead levels. Every city has a water report that tells you the content, including if there’s fluoride (good for you), lead (not good for you).Also a stainless steel container is not one that ‘encourages’ biofilm activity- that would be plastic, which this is not.There are several reviews floating on the interweb from medical ppl doubting that it would work or that UVC light DOES work. As a general rule, don’t side with a camp that makes claims without evidence. Research. Science. “Trust me, I’m a doctor” is only a t-shirt slogan. A good doctor can explain to you why- with both the research done and clinical effects. I’ve never used that phrase and I don’t plan on it.Tl;dr —-The Larq water bottle is great for travelers, nomads, water purists like me. UVC light is proven to de-germ. It does not filter which is generally okay. A little bit of metal is fine, a lot of lead in your city water is not.Please stop upvoting unproven claims.

I bought this bottle because all my other reusable bottles after some time start smelling badly and you cannot really wash it off. I found this one and it seemed like a really good idea. The design is cool and sturdy. I got the 740mL one, and the water stays on the exact same temp throughout the day. I use the Normal mode and it seems to do the job. It is a great bottle for someone who often uses reusable bottles but gets annoyed by the funky smells and the bacteria that start filling in the other bottles

Easy to use. I use it regularly on a daily basis for my drinking water then transfer it to a “Life Straw” bottle. Now I’m drinking more water than I used to. No need to buy water in plastic bottles. clogging up the rivers/sea/environment.

I have been using the bottle regularly for over three weeks now and there is definitely no need to clean it - the cleaning system works perfectly and seems to be safe, fast and silent. Did not notice that water has a different taste and was really pleasantly surprised for how long the bottle keeps the warmth if you pour in something heated.Also, dropped it on the floor already a few times and still everything works properly so it is clearly highly durable.Love the color and the design - overall quite satisfied with the bottle and the experience.

Nach etwa 6 Monaten regelmäßiger Nutzung nur mit reinem Wasser stellt sich ein sehr ekliger Geschmack ein.D. h. wenn das Wasser ein Tag in der Flasche ist, entwickelt sich bei meiner Flasche ein eigenartiger, ekliger Geruch/Geschmack.Eine sehr gründliche Reinigung von Flasche und Verschluss hat nichts gebracht. Versuchsweise habe ich die Flasche gefüllt und mit einer "anderen" dichten Abdeckung versehen -> keine Beeinträchtigung des Geschmacks.Das Problem kommt also von dem Verschluss mit der UVC Diode.

Ich habe mir die Flasche gekauft, um auf der Arbeit beruhigter Wasserhähne anzapfen zu können und eine saubere Flasche zu haben.Die Flasche wurde schnell geliefert, kam gut verpackt und intakt an und begleitet mich seit bald einem Jahr jeden Tag. Die Akkulaufzeit entspricht den Angaben, mit einer Ladung kommt man mehrere Tage aus. Klasse ist auch die Isolierung, das Wasser bleibt sehr lange kalt und frisch.Womit wir beim "aber" wären. Für eine Flasche die deutlich über 100€ kostet ist die Haltbarkeit der Außenhülle ein schlechter Scherz. Die Farbe geht beim leichtesten Kontakt mit einem Fremdkörper ab, es reicht z.B. wenn ein Schlüsselbund darübergleitet, und man hat dicke Kratzer in der Farbe. Gleiches gilt für die Verformbarkeit. Dir kippt die volle Flasche um und mit dem Hals auf eine Kante? Glückwunsch zur neuen Delle!Schön, dass man die Kappe nachkaufen kann - für die Flasche gilt das nicht.Wer seine Neuanschaffung schützen will, darf dafür nochmal 20€ (Hülle) und 20€ (Kappenschutz) ausgebenEs ist mir nicht verständlich, dass Flaschen für weit unter 50€ eine bessere Haltbarkeit haben, als die LARQ. Es hat einen sehr faden Beigeschmack.Tatsächlich würde ich mir die Flasche nicht noch einmal kaufen. Nicht, weil ich die Idee nicht mag, sondern weil ich mit der Qualität nicht zufrieden bin.

Debido a que se auto-limpia, así como su contenido cada dos horas, no hay que preocuparse por ningún contaminante, especialmente en estos días.Usamos la nuestra todo el día, todos los días, y una carga dura alrededor de 2 semanas. Überragende Flasche. Ich habe diese nun schon seit 3 Wochen im Einsatz ohne die Flasche auch nur annähernd gereinigt zu haben. Die Flasche hält locker 6-8 Wochen (im Bezug auf den Akku) und mehrere Wochen ohne diese reinigen zu müssen. Klar der Preis ist heftig aber er ist es voll wert. Nach 1-2 Jahren hat man das Geld auch wieder drinnen (im Vergleich zu Kastenwasser). Sehr zu empfehlen!!!

Ich bin super happy, dass ich diese Flasche gekauft habe! Die Lieferung kam pünktlich und alles lief reibungslos. Schon die Verpackung ist super designed. Die Flasche selbst ist sehr elegant und extrem hochwertig. Sie hält den Inhalt den ganzen Tag kühl und das Selbstreinigungssystem scheint einwandfrei zu funktionieren. Die große Flasche (740ml) ist ein bisschen schwerer als erwartet, aber das macht mir nichts aus. Ich würde die LARQ auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

Die Flasche ist ganz gut als Thermoskanne zu gebrauchen und macht einem auch noch ein gutes Gefühl mit der desinfizierenden UVC LED. Wer weiß was an den Wasserhähnen auf Toiletten manchmal gedeiht da hilft der Knopfdruck definitiv für ein gutes Gefühl auch wenn ich das Ergebnis nicht in einem Labor überprüft habe.

This bottle is garbage ! I have a Culligan Osmosis system at home. I use a PPM meter to make sure the water is clean.Example -Bottled water PPM = 0-4Sink water PPM = 155After using this bottle PPM = 151What did it purify ? Nothing ! Maybe it’s just meant to self clean but it’s advertised to clean water ex. I wouldn’t depend on it !

There is so much wrong with this product. First, “purifying” water only removes bacteria, etc. It does not filter water or remove lead, chlorine, etc. Second, the bottle is incredibly heavy. It’s twice as heavy as any plastic bottle. Third, even the largest bottle doesn’t hold that much water. Fourth, if you fill with anything but water, you have to hand wash the bottle. Lastly, you need to remove top to drink and if you keep the top off, it’s just a regular water bottle.I never review products but I am making an exception.So very disappointed

I love my LARQ bottle! I ordered the two toned pink color and I have been receiving many compliments on the look and feel of the bottle. It's a bit pricier than most but I find that it's worth it since you can use it to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth in a third world country and not having to buy water you aren't necessarily drinking. I also work out a lot and it's nice to know I don't have to keep rinsing out my bottle after every use as it's self cleaning!

I bought this bottle because I hate the gross smell water bottles get no matter how you clean them. I can not yet comment on that as I just received it, but I can say for sure this bottle has no durability. It was accidentally knocked off the counter the first day I got it, and the lid not only got scratched and the paint came off, but it was bent to the point where the charger now barely fits. For $120 I would think the quality would be a bit better than that. I have a very similar bottle that I paid $20 for from Walmart (not self cleaning), & it has been dropped countless times & still doesn’t have a mark on it. Pretty disappointed.

I first purchased a LARQ bottle from the company when they were first introduced. I have been a stainless steel water bottle user for several years. They tend to get dented when you drop them but life is full of bumps and bruises. You can get a protective sleeve from their company website. I have a 25 OZ bottle with the sleeve and love it. When I saw these on Amazon during a Deal of the Day, I snatched the 17St so I'd have a smaller size for when I didn't want to carry the larger one. Having a bottle that actually cleans your water, or whatever your drinking?! Shut The Front Door! UV Sanitation is now a part of our lives unfortunately so these are great. They charge very quickly and the charge lasts forever. I've gotten in the habit of pressing the cap top to sanitize as I replace the cap after I drink. I probably go through a charge quicker, but still the charge lasts a very long time. If you go to their website, you'll find they are also introducing a water pitcher. I got the Himalyian Pink and am very satisfied with my purchase.

 I was so happy receiving this bottle, I got the 32oz, the bottle feels well made, looks cool, most importantly, it’s worth the money if it does what it claims. Until, I found that I can operate the light whenever I want, even when the cap is away from the bottle, I posted question on the Q&A section, and few people have confirmed that it has a built in safety feature, that the light should not turn on when it’s off the bottle. I reached out to the seller, just to make sure I didn’t get a defective item. Below is the response, which got me more confused. I honestly am not quite sure what it means....1, Is he saying the UVC light is not that dangerous?2, The seller is saying the safety feature may not activate if surrounding is too dark, but I took the video in a well lit space3, The seller said even if the light is used close to me, it’s safe, does it mean their UVC light is not that strong ?4, He also mentioned studies shows even you get damage from UVC, damage should be temporary?5, WHY would you have a safety feature to begin with? If it’s so not necessary ?Should I let my daughter use it then ? I read the light is 280nm ? Do I have a defective bottle? Apparently no one knows..... Sometimes if it is dark, it will not pick up ambient light but should dim the UV-C LED light when activated in full light. With that said, there is still not here is not too much to worry about as UV-C LED light is most dangerous if in direct contact with your skin or eyes. It will have little impact if activated in your general vicinity. Most studies around UV-C, only report temporary damage from prolonged contact, so exposure to the LARQ cap should not have any longer-term impacts.Hope that helps! So far I am very pleased with this bottle. It's easy to use and keeps water cold all day. I haven't actually seen it doing the periodic cleaning on it's own because I'm busy and moving around all day but I assume it is cleaning. Once in awhile I will tap the button to do a short clean just in case. Provided this bottle lasts a while with no problems I will certainly buy an extra.
