Beautiful poetic prose which I read in the evenings and which gave me wonderful peaceful sleep. We can all relate to Siddhartha a bit and we so want him to find his answers. Can we find ours? Perhaps that will work for some who read this book.

One of my favourite books of all time but what a horrible version. Full of typos, doubled up or missing words. The cover is made out of cheap cardboard that doesn't even close properly and the layout of the pages is something out somebody's back room. Not sure if it's a scam but if it isn't, then it is produced by amateurs. Had to buy a paperback version from a bookshop eventually.

A slow and relatively dull book with very few points of interest but a couple of nice philosophical insights. The edition itself is very poor- yes I know it is a translation but there were so many spelling mistakes and grammatical errors that i felt it necessary to bring them up. Amazon was originally a book shop and in this book they have shown that they are very poor at actually editing and printing out book. In regard to the large print of the book, it is not actually very large but the book itself is. The text is as large as one would find in a standard sized book.

Wow, what a book. Some how I found peace in this philosophical master piece.Herman Hesse, the noble laureate, in Siddhartha, has tried to convey that knowledge is transferable, but wisdom is not. Wisdom can only be experienced by oneself, can't be acquired from some one in the form of knowledge. The tag line is experience is the real Guru.A very different way of writing style and the best part is that I find the content quite engaging. At the same time, it will induce many thoughts inside you while reading, and you will re-read the phrases to make sure that you understood it correctly.Definitely, this is not for all. It brings out a different taste of spiritual philosophy which might give you a bitter taste in case you are not accustomed to this type of story telling. Still, you can try your hand, bitterness kills many viruses, and it will work on your mind with out letting you know.

One of the best books I have. A guy who wanted to realise God.Our effort, is nothingWhen it is left to GodYou feel like a person floating. If you do something you create a fuss, tension, headaches, within you.But when it is left to himHe takes all the tension away.Surrender to him, His Command. This book I recommend strongly to everyone

A book from the 20s written by a German man about a boy from India. It's a brilliant story, a book everyone should read at least once.

The introduction in this book captures well how Siddhartha impacted the mind of a generation and continues to for generations to come. This is a simple, quick read that is rich in content and especially rewarding for those with a deep thinking reflective mind, a tendency to feel restless/searching, and n interest in Eastern philosophy.

Excellent book for beginners or intermediate people, who are seeking path of enlightenment and getting stuck on story of truth instead of truth itself.
